Water Ministry refutes pollution in King Talal Dam

Jordanian Ministry of Water and Irrigation denied there is any pollution in the waters of King Talal Dam.

Ministry spokesperson Omar Salamah said in a brief statement that the water of the dam is in good condition and conforms to the approved specifications, adding that there are no dead fish in the dam.

He added that samples are taken from the water periodic by the laboratories of the Royal Scientific Society and the Jordan Valley Authority and that all the samples show that the water is safe and unpolluted.

Farmers have reported that the large increase in pollution of the waters of King Talal Dam has caused the death of dozens of fish.
